This week has been a very busy week at Dalhousie Middle School. Tuesday, February 14 was the big “love day” (Valentine’s day). Some of the students and especially the staff worked very hard on making a fun and enjoyable afternoon. They prepared a mini dance (sock-hop) and sold little heart shaped candies to the students of DMS. Many kids were on the dance floor, dancing to the beat of the music. It worked out very well.

The staff and parents of the boys DMS basketball team were very busy in organizing the provincials, which will be held in Dalhousie this year on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday February 19. The basketball provincials are the most important event for all of the basketball players. They are the biggest tournament in the whole season. When time comes to get ready for provincials every body is exited, even the parents and staff. Although it takes a lot of time to organize and prepare. Parents, friends and family members come from all over the different cities and towns to support and cheer their town basketball team that they cheered for all year. There is third, second and first place winner. Third and second place winners earn a nice trophy, while the first place winners win a big Banner, which means much more to the players.

So as you can see, this week has been a very busy one and it still isn’t over. I hope you had a nice Valentine’s day.
